Tips for Looking Young & Staying Healthy

We all want to look and feel young, and the good news is that you absolutely can! It all comes down to the basics, the basics of your lifestyle. Let's dive in.


At some point in time, the body may become overloaded with toxins, and our detox organs (liver, kidneys, gut, etc.) may become out of balance, causing havoc in the system.

It’s important to get rid of toxins from our bodies, we acquire toxins from food, lifestyle or the environment. Fasting and drinking water throughout the day or just consuming fruits and vegetables are ways to detoxify our bodies.

 Signs You Need A Detox

    • Skin problems (acne, spots, rashes, etc.)
    • Constipation, diarrhea, and other digestive issues.
    • Fatigue / low energy.
    • Unexplained headaches or body aches.
    • Frequent colds and viruses.


Try to keep your sleeping schedule the same everyday, and get between 6-8 hours of sleep. Having a sleep schedule will increase energy & productivity. Your skin will also benefit from a good nights rest because your body boosts blood flow to the skin while you sleep so you can wake up to a beautiful glow. 


This is a big one! The food we consume has a HUGE effect on our skin, our gut, and our brain. Did you know that your happy hormone (serotonin) is produced in your gut? If your gut is not happy, you wont be either, you'll lose focus and become a sad couch potato. It's important to avoid processed foods, fried (deep fried) foods, refined sugars and refined carbs. Instead, eat your fruits & vegetables, why? Well, one example being that they contain powerful antioxidants that help to protect the skin from the cellular damage caused by free radicals, thats huge! They're also a great source of dietary fibre, which can help to maintain a healthy gut, prevent constipation and other digestion problems. 

Other foods to consider; fatty-fish (salmon! My favourite, I cannot last without a good salmon dish), avocados, nuts (especially walnuts), dates, flaxseeds, etc. 

Drink your water!!!


Through routine exercise, you will feel happier, more energetic, and confident. Exercising also increases our bone density and muscle which can make our body look 15-20 years younger.. It's true, I've seen 70 year olds with a 30 year old body and mind. i've seen grandpas out run, out push-up, out pull-up young men (tiktok is living, digital proof).  

"In a new study involving people over 70 who have exercised regularly for years, scientists discovered that the participants' hearts, lungs, and muscles were in equivalent shape to those of people in their 40s" -

As for your skin, when you're exercising, you're increasing your blood flow, and that helps your body carry nutrients to the skin which promotes the production of new skin cells, collagen and overall health! Exercising is anti-aging as a whole! 


When stressed, your sympathetic nervous system releases stress hormones like cortisol into your body which causes increased oil production from your sebaceous glands, which can lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

Stress may also cause muscle tension, acne, eczema, hair loss, and many problems inside the body. It can disrupt your digestive system, causing bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, which leads the happy hormone to become not so happy, and you can see the waterfall effect from here.

Here is what you can do to relax:

  • Deep breathing exercises.
  • Hot tub and a book.
  • Meditation.
  • Take a day-road trip
  • Full body massage.
  • Relaxation to yoga music, nature sounds, flute. 
  • Yoga. 
  • Literally ANYTHING that brings you joy, happiness, stillness, or presence e.g writing, walking, sewing, dancing, etc.



Simple, yet hard to maintain for most which is why we refer to this one as a "practice", just like meditation. Talking to yourself in a self-loving manner can have an immense impact on your mind and lifestyle. Morning positive affirmations has become my personal ritual, I wake up, pour a glass of warm water, head outside and speak to the Universe. I let the Universe know that "I am smart, I am confident, I am loving, I am patient, I am hardworking" that I can be, do and have everything I desire. When I repeat these, I begin to believe my words, to feel my words, and this cozy warmth takes over my body and then I get straight to work! Try this and let me know how you feel!  

Active Life

Take a break! It's not always about work and you deserve to have some fun! Go golfing, go play tennis, you can try kickboxing, or spend an entire day laying at the beach! Take a break, but make it a fun, active break.  Make sure you're happy, when you're happy you look and feel young.
